Straight Thread Tube Fitting O-Rings

Straight Thread Tube Fitting O-RingsWhen looking at the types of O-rings on offer for your manufacturing processes, you might be wondering which would be the best solution for your unique needs. Today we’re going to take a deeper look into what straight thread tube fitting O-rings are and how we can help you as one of the top O-ring suppliers in the UK. Find out more here about our range of products and don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team if you have any questions on this topic. We are dedicated to helping make your work as efficient as possible, and finding the right threaded O-ring for the job is the first step in making that happen.

What are Straight Threaded O-Rings?

Straight threaded O-rings are designed for use within straight threaded tube fittings. They still offer the same seal that other designs do, which will help to seal the two mating components. One thing that sets them apart from some of the other products we offer is that they aren’t completely housed within the typical rectangular groove. The male tubing fitting will still have a radiuses partial groove, which will help to retain the O-ring during the manufacturing process you are using it within.

The mating part, which usually comes in the form of a cylinder port, has a chambered face which will help to compress the O-ring in a diagonal direction. This will nearly fully compress the O-ring. This system is usually referred to as the O-ring boss system or boss O-ring, which is a term that many people are unfamiliar with if they haven’t used this type of O-ring before. We generally recommend the SAE O-ring boss for high-pressure settings. This would require a 90 durometer NBR or FKM O-Ring, which can help to protect your equipment during this type of process. The threaded O-ring can be made in a range of different strengths, but you’ll find that rubber seal polymers are a common option for the boss O-ring.

English and American Systems for O-Rings

Keep in mind that when you are looking at O-rings, they will be marked based on the place in which they are manufactured. For the most part, you’ll find that American Military and Commercial specifications are used to describe both the flange and the fitting. These fall under the specification that’s AS 568, which will help you find the right option for your workplace. We can help you to understand more about the different options on offer to you, allowing you to experience all the benefits of investing in high-quality O-rings.

Metric System

The metric system offers a similar fitting and is usually defined by the ISO 6149 regulations. These are slightly different from the American system, and they are measured by the port thread size. With a wide range of sizes on offer, you will once again have no trouble finding a sealing option for any type of application.

The Benefits of Straight Thread Tube Fitting O-Rings

When it comes to choosing the right O-ring for your needs, you’ll want to make sure you find a solution that’s right for your unique manufacturing setup. There’s no point investing in straight thread tube fitting O-rings if they aren’t going to fit properly on your equipment. However, the benefit of this type of O-ring is that it’s excellent for high-pressure settings. It will help to reduce the chance of leaking with an excellent sealing solution, which can help to improve efficiency and reduce the chance of delays to any type of work.
