VEE PACKINGS/CHEVRON SETS

Vee Packings, also referred to as Chevron Sets are universal multi-part seals that are highly regarded for their long working life and ability to operate under adverse mechanical conditions in rod and piston locations. 

This robust packing set, specially designed for up and down movement of plunges and axels in pumps and valves, comprises of three different elements, the gland ring/female adaptor, the header/male adaptor and multiple intermediate ‘V’ shaped rings. Activation is by lip sealing as the intermediate ‘V’ rings are tapered to give an initial interference when confined in the seal housing. The resulting radial force ensures good sealing. 

Vee Packings are used for both low and high-pressure applications with single or double acting cylinders with each single intermediate ‘V’ ring reacting to pressure to create an effective seal along the shaft. 

Vee packings are designed and available in a wide range of different material configurations and combinations in order to give best and most effective sealing results based and dependent upon different media and chemicals, temperaturespressures and surface speeds in any given specific application.
